I was in a relationship that was really unhealthy, very abusive overall. He controlled a lot of when things happened, how things happened, so I didn't really have a lot of freedom to choose whether I wanted to use birth control or not and I was very worried that he would find out in any way if I was on the pill or anything. And so I got pregnant and I didn't realize right away that I was pregnant. I skipped a period and then the next month is when I realized like, oh this is two that I haven't had. I didn't tell him immediately, I didn't really know what to do. I knew a friend who'd had an abortion from when I was younger so that's who I called first.
